Naturist Running for Office

Allen Baylis, an attorney who practices the naturist lifestyle, is running for City Council in Huntington Beach, California.

"The HB City Council members seem to believe that it is their duty to pass every proposed ordinance that's placed in front of them," the 52-year-old father of three grown children said. "The public has to go to great lengths to convince the council not to pass any new law before they will vote against it."

Baylis said the nudity ban, and the controversial proposed mandatory spaying, neutering and micro chipping law are examples of bad local government not listening to its constituents.

"My position is that the council should not pass any new law unless there is clear and convincing public support for it," he said. "I'd like to bring back some of these issues that have increased the amount of government interference with people's private life and get rid of them."
