  • An art exhibit in Washington D.C. features crocheted nude figures created by Ming Yi Sung Zaleski.
"Public Art Private Parts" is an exhibit of completely crocheted pieces. Only this time it's not scaring people in the lobby of an office building like it did in 2005, when Zaleski's work caused a controversy that led her to partially censor the art. Now, it's just drawing stares, giggles and even buyers at the Nevin Kelly Gallery in Northwest Washington. The naked human and animal figures are back with a whimsical, 5-minute film that explains why fig leaves are covering the anatomically correct crocheted private parts. (Those who aren't offended are invited to lift the leaves.)

"We accept people the way they are,'' said Ken, a regular nudist who attended with his partner Jenny. "If people are different shapes and sizes you just accept that - no one's perfect.''
  • Nudists will always tell you that the thought of being naked socially is more traumatic that actually doing it. After a short while, first-timers wonder what all the fuss was about. Could the same principle hold true for pornography and teenagers?
"It's so common now, who hasn't seen something like that?" said Emily Duhovny, 17.The Marlboro, N.J., high school senior said X-rated images pop up all the time when she's online. Duhovny said the first time she saw one, it was shocking, but now, "more than anything, it's just annoying."
  • Topfreedom and nudity are frowned upon at Rio's famous beaches.
Despite Brazil's reputation for sexual tolerance, both the toplessness and nudity increasingly seen on European beaches are frowned upon here. Nudists are confined to a remote beach, and when a group of young women tried going topless in Ipanema a few years ago, opponents poured beer on the women, insulted them, and called the police.
  • What effect is the nude, rude and crude behaviour of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan having on our children?
And even if our adolescents pick up a few tricks from the Brit Pack, we have a big head start on them. We begin to teach our kids values while they're still in diapers. "Kids learn good morals and values by copying role models who are close to them," says Michele Borba, author of "Teaching Moral Intelligence." Experts say that even the most withdrawn teens scrutinize their parents for cues on how to act.
  • A New Delhi court has asked police to file their final report regarding an artist's depiction of Hindu Gods in the nude.
A doctor of Apollo Hospital, Ram Pratap Singh had filed a complaint accusing Hussain of hurting religious feelings by allegedly painting "nude or scantily-clad pictures of Sita, Draupadi and Bharat Mata". The doctor, in his complaint, had said he was shocked to see an advertisement in a weekly magazine on February 6 last year depicting Bharat Mata in a "scantily-clad posture" and again an article in a national daily that was accompanied by depiction of goddess Sita and Draupadi in "highly obscene" way.
