A Call for Breastfeeding-friendly Businesses

A writer calls for the end of Victorian mores when it comes to public breastfeeding in Canada.
It's time to get over Victorian sensibilities that banish a woman to the bathroom, the back of the restaurant, or the fitting room to breastfeed. And it's time to relax about making nursing mothers cover up.

(News flash: Lots of babies don't like having a blanket draped over their faces while they're eating and will swat it away in the time it takes to unsnap a maternity
bra.)

If businesses value their female customers (and male customers who support breastfeeding), they need to adopt clear policies that are in line with the Canadian Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms and protect a woman's right to breastfeed anytime, anywhere.
