Mother Freaks Out Over Semi-Nude Photos

A Florida woman purchased two cell phones at a Wal-Mart, one for her and the other for her 14 year-old son, and was "shocked" to discover images of semi-nude women available to download as screen wallpaper.
Michelle bought her husband's exact same phone, at a Target, and it too, has access to the soft-core porn pictures. And these shots came from a boost mobile cell phone we purchased at a Tampa Wal Mart. There are dozens and possibly hundreds of almost-nude snap shots available."This is a preview of a download of a wallpaper that you can purchase," said Michelle March. The pictures are small thumbnails offering users to download larger versions for $1.99."My question to boost is where's your morals?" asked Michelle March. Michelle is now on the warpath about what she sees as corporate irresponsibility. She's called the Sebring police department, the highlands county sheriff's office and school officials, whom she says, have seen for themselves, what the 40-dollar, little black phone can do.
Soft core porn? These young ladies are not even nude. Has the 14 year-old boy ever been to the beach? If so, he's seen a lot more skin there than he'll see in those photos. And I can double-damn-guarantee you that he has seen much, much more in magazines or videos when he is with his friends.

This woman does not even seem real. I can't even see Helen Lovejoy on "The Simpsons" going so ballistic. Calling the police, the sheriff and school officials over a little sexy thumbnail photo?

I really feel sorry for this kid who is undoubtedly the victim of much ridicule at school, expecially since local Florida television has picked up the story.

It's hard to come to terms with such hysteria over something as simple as a sexy pin-up type photo. Is this woman upset when she turns on CSI on television and sees a grisly murder case every week? Is she upset that 100 people a day are dying in Iraq? Is she upset that we have carrier fleets in the Persian Gulf ready to strike Iran at any moment? Is she upset that her phone might be tapped, that she can no longer go to anywhere outside the country without a passport, or that it takes 2 hours just to board a plane? Is she upset that 3000 children die from Malaria in Africa every day?

No, she's freaked out that little Johnny saw a photo of a pretty girl. It's this sort of sexual repression that turns people to deviance, or pornography, in search of a sexual identity. Teaching children that the human body is dirty and that sex is nothing but immoral is psychologically damaging. Making it all so taboo will only heighten little Johnny's curiousity, and when he does begin to have sexual relations he will be immature and will likely treat women as objects of pleasure and not as human beings.

I only hope that someone talks to this woman before she does any more damage to herself and her family.
