This is an official protest announcement to the media.
I do intend to enjoy another topless protest in Daytona Beach this year. Typically, I will do one Topfree Stand protest per year during Bikeweek in Daytona Beach. This is the event when they would arrest thousands of women for daring to bare their breasts. Biketoberfest was always targeted with these arrests, too. So I have decided to expand my venue into that event, as well.
Recently, I filed a 14th Amendment lawsuit against the city through my attorney, Mark Tietig. Although I am approaching the 14th Amendment, I still plan to utilize our hard fought for and hard won rights to First Amendment Protection in topless protest.
I fished during my last protest. They wanted a peaceful protest. So I gave them a peaceful protest. You can't get more peaceful than fishing. I actually caught a little red snapper (it snapped in the front) and a great white double dd. It was a funny and joyous protest. I will keep all of my future protests in the same vein.
I will be doing this next protest on Sunday, October 19th, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. I will be on the west side of the Main Street Bridge in Daytona Beach, right by the river. I would put a banner across the roadway, but Daytona wants $750-$850 to do that. I am a single mother with a limited budget. So that is out of the question for me. Yet, I do plan to have some fun and funky protest signs out there with me. Topfreedom for women rocks and the Topfree Stand is certainly out there to prove it. Maybe as more women see that they will not be persecuted or harassed they will come to join me, as well.
It would be nice for people to get over their fear of tits and focus on the things that they should be afraid of, like big government and foreclosures. Does it make any sense to you that breasts are illegal and yet the biggest crooks in America are allowed to run rampant over us? We should criminalize them and their activities, don't you think? What they are doing and have done seems quite treasonous to me.
By the way, does anyone know who actually owns the Federal Reserve? I heard recently from some very high up political sources that it is owned lock, stock, and barrel by the Bank of England. Hmmmm? Isn't that where every one of our Federal Tax dollars goes? Old Mother England is one smart bitch, isn't she! It seems she still has a strangle hold on her subjects. While I am on this topic, does anyone know where there ARE any Federal Laws that state that we must even pay Federal Tax? Just a thought.
Please feel free to join me in October for the protest. It is a beautiful time of year in Florida and a great place to make a Stand.
Topfree and Lovin' It In Daytona Beach,
Liz Book
(note from nudiarist: while I wholeheartedly support Liz in her topfree protests, her political views are not necessarily shared by me.)

A Message from Elizabeth Book
Many of you have followed my fight for Topfreedom in Florida for the past five years. I have tried to keep you all abreast of the accomplishments we have achieved. Daytona crafted this new ordinance that I have attached for you, just a few weeks after I had announced my intention to do another protest on International Women's Day. It seems that they will always have a problem in conceding defeat.
This last time, I stepped up to the Topfree Stand with the protection of the United Nations, the Constitution of the United States, and Two Appellate Court rulings in the American women's favor. This time their police officers smiled as they patrolled the protest.
I have a new attorney out of Merrit Island, Florida, who will soon be filing a 14th Amendment lawsuit in my name. We will be having a press conference on this next Monday. His name is Mark Tietig. He asked me today for a copy of the new ordinance with the changes that Daytona developed just after my notification of my intentions last November. I reviewed it and had it sent over to him. This is the first time that I have really seen this new ordinance. I simply refused to let it hold any credence in my fight for equality prior to my last protest. In reading it today for the first time, I am appalled at the verbiage used and the delineations of the human body that they have made. They also clearly target women and our breasts in this new ordinance. Gees, they have even connoted the nipple and the amount of tissue surrounding the nipple that may lawfully be freed! Hopefully, I will address this soon in my upcoming lawsuit.
Let them think they have superiority over us! Let them connote our breasts as sexual organs. I will not stand down. Ha! Not only will I not stand down, I will even stand against this behavior of targeting American women, more often. I have decided to extend my protests into semi annual protests. People are asking me why I would do this? I reply, "Why, because I can!" If it is fight they are spoiling for, then I am just the woman to give it to them!
In the past, they have tried to levy fines and costs at me. I will tell you now, that I never have nor will I ever pay them a dime for free speech or my presentation of it! My outrage at their tactics and their maneuverings knows no bounds.I have some awesome twists to our First Amendment that I plan to instill in my upcoming protests. I love symbolism. I use it frequently in all of my protests. This year's upcoming Topfree Stand protest in Daytona Beach in October will relfect this, too. Nowhere in the "Protestor's Handguide" does it state that we must be anything but peaceful and happy during a protest. Music, laughter, love, and innocent breasts will be hard for them to overcome with their insinuations that my protests might be hostile or harmful. My protests will be the happiest protests this country has ever seen, as they have been in the past. (Until the "Powers That be" decide to rescind our First Amendment rights).
Stand peacefully for change and for your right to fight for change or you just may lose this wonderful privilege. Some things are definitely worth fighting for.

Waiting on the NAC
Still waiting to hear from The Naturist Action Committee as to what specifically is being done to organize support for Elizabeth Book on her International Women's Day Topfree Stand. In a response to a previous post, the NAC stated "The Naturist Action Committee has been working closely with Liz Book since the early stages of this matter", and all I want to know is exactly what constitutes "working".
Both The Academic Naturist and this writer have pledged real monetary support for the NAC if they would simply outline what steps are being taken to organize support. The silence from NAC is a little troubling.
The Academic Naturist makes a good point that waiting for the NAC to do something could be counterproductive to the issue, and perhaps nothing will be done to help Liz, so he set up a page on the WWNCW to help people organize. If you wish to donate directly to Liz, she has a website here with a PayPal link.
But I would still like to hear from the NAC.

An Open Letter to the NAC Regarding Liz Book
Dear Naturist Action Committee,
Thank you for responding to my last post about topfreedom. I do appreciate that you have been working closely with Liz Book on her struggle for topfree equality.
I would like to know specifically what you have planned to support Liz on March 8 for her International Women's Day Top-Free Stand.
I am ready to send a contribution today, and will urge all my readers to do the same, if you will be actively involved in organizing mass support for Liz on that day. Without mass support, Liz will likely face another arrest.
I look forward to your response.

A Topfreedom Call for Action

Talk is cheap, and actions speak louder than words. Stand up for what you believe in! Your armchair commentary is enlightening, but getting out and doing something is far more helpful. You can indulge in your nudist lifestyle this summer, but please invest in the future of nudism as well. (That's part of the problem -- we'd all prefer to indulge, sunning ourselves and being nude, instead of clothed and pushing for change.)This is a "numbers" issue. Spencer Tunick can get away with photographing thousands of people in public places because he has wide support. Elizabeth Book is arrested for being topfree because she is alone. If 1000 nudists/naturists joined Book on March 8 for her International Women's Day Top-Free Stand, the police would be forced to stand by and allow the protest to take place. Where is AANR, NAC, or TERA on this issue, other than offering words of support? If thousands of people are willing to show up completely naked for Tunick, then certainly there are even more who would be willing to support Book in her crusade. The time is NOW.

Defiant Elizabeth Book to Protest Daytona Nudity Ban
Topfreedom activist Elizabeth Book plans on going topfree in Daytona on March 8, International Women's Day, to protest the city's recently enacted anti-nudity ordinance, which was basically passed specifically to deal with her activism. Book has notified that she intends to sue the city because she claims police violated her civil rights.
Besides the threatened lawsuit, Book also has started an on-line petition that she hopes to submit to the United Nations.Tags: nudism, naturism, nudist, nudists, naturist, naturists, nudity, nudes, bare, au naturel, nude, naked
"I want decriminalization," she said. "There should never be a law against a woman's body."
So on March 8, Book plans to make a speech on the west end of the Main Street Bridge, then lead a march across the bridge and down Main Street on the beachside.
Asked is she planned to march topless, she said she wasn't sure.
But then she said, "Of course I will."

Daytona Revises Nudity Law
City Commissioners in Daytona have revised the city's nudity ordinance to prohibit nudity for the sole purpose of protesting nudity ordinances, and allowing nudity only when it is "incidental and necessary". This seems to be a Catch-22 of ordinances, directed specifically against Elizabeth Book, who has been cleared three times of violating the law when she was arrested for being topfree.
It would appear that people would be able to protest nude against certain social issues, such as war, or global warming, but not specifically against nudity laws. It does not appear to me that the government has any right at all to tell people what they are allowed to protest. In addition, the new language probably makes it illegal for art galleries to exhibit nude paintings, or to feature nude models. This is government gone mad.
