Bill Henson Applauded in Australia

Photographer Bill Henson made his first public appearance since his photos were at the center of a recent controversy. He spoke to a crowd of 500 at the National Gallery of Australia.

"Nothing kills the thing we love quite so perfectly as our assumption that we always know what's best, what is right for someone else, whether it's another person or another culture...the greatness of art comes from the ambiguities, which is another way of saying it stops us from knowing what to think."
