Indiana Library Accused of Having Pornography
A DVD of the 2006 film "Shortbus" is at the center of a controversy at the Bloomington Public Library. Even though the film is clearly labeled as being unrated and containing sexually explicit material, one patron has filed a complaint.

The warning label is nice, but if the library's selection policy excludes such material, that material should be excluded.
Further, even if the selection policy does not exclude it, if the law enacted to create the public library excluded or did not include such material, then again it gets excluded.
Public libraries are not places where anything goes, despite misinformation to that effect.
I do not know enough about "Shortbus" to say anything specifically about that.
Anyone in that community who would like to speak with someone unaffected by library propaganda that largely ignores "US v. ALA," please contact me.
