  • A & F is launching a new concept store to sell sexy loungewear to teens.
Abercrombie & Fitch has been tight-lipped about exactly what products Gilly Hicks will carry. But the store's website, already up and running, seems to offer a clue. The site requires visitors to be at least 18 years old to view a short film that features young women swimming topless and frolicking in lace bras, thongs, boxers, and underwear. In one scene, a young woman and young man giggle and flirt as they stand, almost entirely in the buff, in a yard of some sort, near a beach. The young man helpfully hangs the young woman's bra on a clothesline to dry. Other lingerie sways in the breeze. [Boston.com]

  • It's dieting season, and one writer warns about buying into the commercial pressure to achieve physical perfection.
You will always be shown the "after" pictures of a woman who has been on a diet and exercise regime, and she will be happy and excited twirling in front of that full-length mirror.

But once a woman realises that her life hasn't fundamentally changed all that much, she will, inevitably, go back to her old, bad habits - but this time, with a vengeance of defeat and guilt. [Daily Mail]
  • A critic reviewing the DVD of "The Ride" is a gymnophobe.
I used to think that America's repressive puritanical attitude toward nudity was a bad thing, but then you see a flock of pasty, middle-aged British men diving into the ocean nude, without reservation and on more than one occasion during the 150-minute DVD... It changes your perspective somewhat. [motorcycle-usa.com]

European-style wedding dresses considered too revealing, with a décolleté or bare shoulders, are no longer on sale in Chechnya. Again, this goes back to the president’s own views. “Brides are a symbol of modesty, but recently they’ve begun wearing dresses that are too revealing,” he said. “If things carry on like this, we’ll soon have forgotten all our national traditions and our identity.”
[Institute for War and Peace Reporting]
