Cracking Down on Nude Sunbathers

With apparently nothing better to do, park rangers over the past year have made arrests and written tickets for people sunbathing in the nude at Playalinda Beach in Brevard County, Florida.
One Titusville woman said she's been ticketed five times.

"I was born nude, and if God wanted me to wear clothes all the time, he would have put clothes on me when I was born," Ursela Dickens said.

"All the superintendent has to do is put up signs out there that say, 'Beyond this point, you may encounter nude sunbathers,' and the people who don't want to see nude sunbathers can go to any of the other 12 beaches," nude sunbather Bob Allen said.
The park rangers' superintendent says that the reason for the crackdown is because "the beach belongs to everyone". If he truly believed that, then he would leave the naturists alone.

My wife and I lived in Titusville in the 80's and the same thing was going on.We were not nudists but went to Playalinda a lot.We never saw any nude sunbathers mainly because it was such a long hike to the northern part of the beach were the nudists were.We would not have been bothered even if we did see anyone.
We went to a Titusville city councile meeting once when the issue of designating an area for nude sunbathing was brought up.We went to give our support to the nudists. I wondered why Titusville was getting involved since Playalinda is in the federal reserve.
There were so many 'bible thumpers'there and the council had already made up its mind I knew it never stood a chance.
Once again the idea of 'the beach belongs to everyone' is only for the prudes and religious right.
